From tranquil Summer seas to raging Winter storms with massive waves crashing on the Headlands, Coves, and Cabos, there are few places in the world that compare to Cabo San Pedro.
The allure of our retreat home make many people not want to leave during their stay due to the seasonal cool sea breezes and fresh airs, as well as the warm coziness of this "Snuggle Harbor" in a winter storm.
For so many, the visual command-scape of the natural environment enthuses creative thought and vivid retrospect for future planning and completion of dreams, ventures, and accomplishments. You won't need a "thinking cap" here... this home IS one.
Our Electric Tram carries all your groceries and luggage up and down the many stairs on the hillside from the garage up to the home. The Tram is located right alongside the stairs. It can handle about 150 lbs at a time both up and even down, it is important not to overload the Tram even downhill. 3 full suitcases are 150 lbs., Please be careful not to overload the Tram.
The Tram is key operated at both the bottom and top of the stairs; for safety the key must be manually turned the entire time the Tram runs along its tracks. The keys are in a combination coded key box and the key switch is that runs the Tram is inches away as the key is chained to its box so as not to be lost.
It is important to be at the top when bringing the Tram uphill and at the bottom when bringing the Tram downhill so as to stop the Tram at the "Station"; although the the Tram is electronically set up for automatic stop.
This Electric TRAM actually built this entire very private home well up above the street and has continued to serve faithfully the needs of the residents for almost 30 years. The stairs are very many and may be an issue for some guests and should be discussed with the manager before committing to renting. The owner is in his 70's (as has been other residents) and they have had no problem going up and down the stairs a few or several times a day. Feel welcome to contact us about this. And yes a people Tram is in the works. Young and middle aged people seemed to stroll up and down like enjoying a "cakewalk". Entering the home and seeing the VIEWS erases any thoughts of the stairs.
There are Stair lights, floods, and lanterns that light up the entire stairway and all landings and the light switches are located at the bottom of the stair entrance at the garage and as well in the unit that you will be staying in. Explicit instructions and pics of Tram key switches and Stair light switches will be emailed to will the natural gas heater pictures and instructions.
The heater is very fast and efficient.
PARKING: We have driveway parking in front of the detached garage at the street. 1 space is dedicated to this Penthouse. It is possible more than 1 space can be available by arrangement. There can be as many as 3 parking spaces (with marked parking stalls); otherwise across the street to the left are 5 empty building lots and almost always parking is available there or even further along our road.
FREE WASHER and DRYER are available: Located in the Laundry Alcove in the back of the house adjacent to the upper Tram stop. You can carry your laundry there out the main entry door or via the internal stairs down to the 2 doors that go out to this alcove. Free detergent should be available.
There are a few of us who are available to assist by telephone. One is a Native San Franciscan and on/off Resident of Pacifica, forever.
So the phone #'s are:
Always feel welcome to call after 10:00am in the morning, and before 8pm in the evening San Francisco Time Zone.
Cabo San Pedro the original Spanish words for Pedro Point is a former, and still a rustic, quaint, fishing village with new modern California homes. The adjacent Linda Mar (Spanish: Beautiful Sea) Valley was all artichokes and Brussels' sprouts farms back in WWII, and now a "bedroom community", and thus all the shopping and restaurant, etc., conveniences.
A must see at the bottom of the hill are the over 100 year old fishing docks and ramps for the classic dories still in use today by fishermen and divers (think Dungeness Crab, salmon, striped bass, abalone, rock cod of many species, sea urchin, anchovies, albacore tuna, clams and mussels).
And then there is surfing, body surfing, skim-boarding, kite surfing, sail surfing, SUP or Stand Up Paddle surfing along with contests for all ages of men and women.
Hiking is the back yard of Pedro Point, especially popular along the now closed former Hwy #1 section known as Devil's Slide.
Right here at the beach below us is where Spanish Explorer Gaspar de Portola discovered the San Francisco Bay after missing the Monterey Bay. That's alright as others missed the SF Bay sailing right past the Golden Gate entrance to the Bay.
Portola anchored right off our beach and hiked up to the ridge above and discovered one of the world's most important bays and brought about the founding our Great World City of San Francisco, originally called Yerba Buena, and her outlying cities and counties and landmarks such as our Cabo San Pedro (Pedro Point) and our Gulf of the Farallones (Spanish: Cliffs) with offshore rocky islands of same name.
And Discovery is still going on in terms of Technology, Science, and Health in San Francisco's nearby brother and sister areas.
And you are in store for Discovery of more restaurants and things to do than you could imagine... starting with the VIEWS from our House.
If you do not have your own car, Rental Cars from theSFO Airport give you the best get around especially for grocery shopping nearby. But UBER and Taxi's and SamTrans (San Mateo Transit) busses and BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit); will all get you anywhere to here, or from here.
Walking the Pedro Point neighborhood is considered a quiet and pleasant safe walk 24/7 with views. Walks on our long wide sandy beach or headlands are energizing and healthy.

We are fortunate to be 1 to 2 minutes to lots of restaurants, big grocery stores (Safeway Store), coffee shops, Ace Hardware, surf shop, Radio Shack, Ross Store, 3 banks (the Wells Fargo Bank is in the Safeway Store open until 7 pm daily but earlier on the weekends), and gas stations.
While we are only 15 minutes to SFO Airport and same to Downtown SF; Napa Valley is further north; and Princeton by the Sea (10 mins), Half Moon Bay (15 mins), and Santa Cruz (1 hour) are all to the South on Hwy #1 right at the bottom of the hill. And Silicon Valley is about 25 to 35 minutes via Hwy's #280 and #101 by the SFO airport.
