Description - Camp

Mara Explorers is a small tented camp situated just 3km before the Sekenani gate of the Maasai Mara Reserve and only 300m from the main road.
Ideal for backpackers, overlanders and budget travellers we have simple tented accommodation complete with comfortable beds which share clean toilet and hot shower facilities.

For those who wish to self cater there is a self catering kitchen in the grounds complete with gas stove, small BBQ and an assortment of pots, pans and utensils. For those who are not self catering you can enjoy meals prepared by us in our kitchen. We offer set meals 3 times a day at a cost of 600ksh each per person for breakfast and lunch and 800ksh for dinner.
We have a central bar and dining area complete with sofas, board games, book exchange, darts, pool table and BBQ area where we often prepare meals for you to enjoy.

As we are situated in a remote location with no mains power we mainly get our electricity from solar panels which provide power for basic lighting around the camp, cold drinks and charging facilities for phones and cameras in the bar area.

If you require a vehicle for gamedrives we can arrange them from camp for you. We can also advise you on how to reach us by public means or connect you with reliable drivers to bring you to camp if required.
