When built in 1904, The Daily Ledger in Tacoma featured the house as "one of the largest and most attractive residence built this year..." Prior to the depressions era, the manor was called home by the families of a local railroad pioneer, a Tacoma city builder, and former mayor. | | Directions | From Interstate 5 North:
(via Portland, OR) or South (via Sea-Tac International Airport), in Tacoma take the City Center exit / Interstate 705. Travel west taking the Schuster Parkway exit.
Once on Schuster Parkway, continue in your left hand lane towards Ruston Way. Following the waterfront move to the right hand lane and exit North 30th Street / Old Town.
Turn left on Carr Street (one street past signal light) and head up to the top of the hill to Yakima Street and turn right.
Go to Prospect Street (second street on the left) and turn left.
Go one block to the corner or North 21st and Prospect.
Branch Colonial House is on the southeast corner at 2420 North 21st Street. |
