When you enter your room, place your suitcase/belongings in the bathroom & hang up your coat instead of placing things on your bed at first.
We also highly recommend that you do a quick overall inspection of the bed & even headboard. By this we mean “un-tuck” the corners of the bed & check the mattress, especially in the corners. You probably won’t see the bugs, but you just might see eggs (yuck) – dead shredded skins and there might even be a slight odor (raspberry). Don’t be shy to complain & insist on changing rooms. In my experience, most Hotels are willing to accommodate your needs.
And finally, when you return home, open your luggage in your garage & wash your travel clothes immediately!
Did you also know that when you travel, you could be bringing home these lovely critters? Bed Bugs are known to climb into your suitcase, if you are staying in an infested hotel room. If you place your suitcase or clothes on the Hotel bed that’s infested, (keep in mind that they are so tiny, you will never be able to see them) they could just climb on aboard & decide to travel along with you, all the way until you unpack your clothes at home, then, they will set up house on your bed! : o
Not the kind of guests I would love to have in my house!

Did you know that bed bugs like to “nest and multiply” near their food supply? Which, by the way, is you! : o
When you check in to a Hotel, B&B, Hostel or other such establishment, you are considered a visitor/guest. Well, bed bugs are, for the most part, full time tenants. ..
