Channel Managers Now Updating Instant World Booking’s Calendar

As an update to our previous list of calendar systems feeding Instant World Booking, located at:

The following is a current list of Channel Managers and Property Management Systems (PMS, or Front Desk Systems) currently connected to Instant World Booking.  This means that all of these 3rd party systems provide an interface to automatically update your calendar on the Instant World Booking network.

If you are currently working with another3rd party system like those described above, tell them you want to be able to feed your availability directly to Instant World Booking.  Typically, services will respond positively to their clients’ requests of this type.

New Get Bookings and Calendar Allocation features in v3.2

We are proud to announce the release of version 3.2 of the Instant World Booking XML API.  This release includes new Get Bookings (Reservations) features and Calendar Allocation features.

Previously, the “getbookings” function allowed limited ability to request reservations for specific dates.  Now, since version 3.1 (released April 3, 2011), new selection criteria have been added to query reservations by 1) booking date, 2) modification date, or 3) guest arrival date.  See section 3.3 of the API Guide.

Additionally, several important new features have been added to the “setallocation” and “getroomtypes” functions.

  1. Promotional discounts for advance booking – a discount to be applied to the base rate if a reservation is booked early (i.e., at least the specified “days” prior to arrival date).
  2. Promotional discounts for lengthy stays – a discount to be applied to the base rate if a reservation is longer than the specified minimum # days.
  3. Enhanced Minimum Stay function – The minimum stay functionality now allows the user to apply specific stay limits for various date ranges.  Because of these enhancements the former <minstay>, <minstay_weekend>, and <maxstay> elements have been deprecated, and will no longer be available after September 30, 2011.  Version 3.2 introduces the new <minstays> element, which replaces the former functionality.

As a reminder, the Instant World Booking XML API also includes a full White Label Affiliate Program API (see section 2.0).  This API enables users to implement a complete white-label online booking solution on their website, suitable for booking hotels, hostels, and B&B inns.

Calendar Management 2.0

Instant World Booking is pleased to announce the release of our new Calendar Management System.  For hotels, B&Bs, hostels and all accommodations, updating your calendar of availability is now easier than ever.  Our completely re-designed calendar system ensures your calendar will be up and running in just a matter of minutes.

Here’s How:

Please Log In – You can log in at the top our homepage (www.instantworldbooking.com). Once logged in, check the “Alerts” at the top of your profile page to see what information needs to be updated. Then, proceed to the INVENTORY page to set up or manage your calendar. This page has complete online help screens to guide you.

First Time Users – On the INVENTORY page, select the “Getting Started” function. This allows you to set up your rooms and initial availability in just seconds. Remember to read the online help screens for instructions.

Change or Block Dates – On the INVENTORY page, you will see summary calendars at the top of the page. If you just have a few changes to make, click on any date on the summary calendar. This allows you to update, block, or even copy availability to future periods.

Manage your Availability – The new “Manage Availability” function permits total control of your calendar all in one place.  Here you can manage your seasonal, monthly, or even daily prices and available units for up to 2 years. Remember to read the online help screens for instructions.

Other Functions – There are many other features available on the INVENTORY page. These features provide various shortcuts for viewing your calendar, updating rates and options, and even managing room features.
