Stayokay has 30 hostels throughout the Netherlands and is part of the Hostelling International network. You'll find our hostels in the cities Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Den Haag, but also at the beach, in the woods and along the water. Stayokay hostels are housed in different unique buildings, ranging from modern facilities to castles or country houses. No matter where, you will find a relaxed atmosphere, giving you an opportunity to meet fellow travellers.

Discover the wealth of art, culture and history, the courtyards, the museums. Or visit the Zwarte Markt bazaar in Beverwijk or Alkmaar's cheese market. Dunes and beach are nearby, as well as the seaside towns of Bloemendaal, IJmuiden and Zandvoort, and the Spaarnwoude recreation area, where there's plenty of action. The hostel is situated 3 Km north of the city centre alongside the N208.
Coming from Amsterdam or Utrecht: follow the A9 until the Rottepolderplein- roundabout and then the A200 into Haarlem. Turn right at the end and left at the second set of traffic lights. Directly after crossing the river Spaarne ( first traffic lights ) turn right and follow the Spaarndamseweg until the third set of traffic lights. Turn left here and follow the Jan Gijzenkade until just before the second set of traffic lights ( where this street links the N208 ). Turn left now and youll see the Hostel on your left-handside. There are free parking spaces available beside the Hostel.
Coming from Alkmaar or Beverwijk : follow the N208 ( the Randweg, linking Haarlem with Beverwijk and Alkmaar ) until the first set of traffic lights ( where the speedlimit changes to 70 km.p.h. ) and turn left into the Jan Gijzenkade. You can see the Hostel on your right-handside. | | Transportation | The Hostel is well served by public transport from the major cities and sights in the area. There are frequent train connections to Haarlem (almost every 10 minutes) until 1.20 AM including a train from Amsterdam & a direct bus from Schiphol airport (nr 300). At the Haarlem train station you can take a no. 2 bus to Haarlem-Noord). There is a stop just outside the Hostel. Buses run every 15 minutes (until 00.30 am) and the ride takes about 15 minutes.
Its only a 10 minutes walk from the Hostel to the nearest train station at Santpoort-Zuid.
After an exciting evening out in Amsterdam you dont need to worry too much about missing the last train to Haarlem. From the Leidseplein you can hop or stumble onto the special Nr. 286 nightbus that will take you back to the FC Haarlem Football Stadium, just 600 mtrs east of the Hostel.
