The location was great--in a safe area near restaurants, neighborhood stores, and a bar next door. The linens were clean and so were the common areas. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

There were no elevators, the room was tiny (think walk-in closet with a bed), theres no food allowed in your rooms, the temps were not comfortable (extremely cold even with the thin blanket), womens bathroom was clean-however there was condensation over everything including the toilet seats after someone showered, the bar played loud music most of the night (although this didnt bother me).

Overall-Id give them an "A" for effort, but unless im in dire straits Id just put another $50 with the cost of this and get a decent hotel room next time. But the location really was great.

Nice little hostel with good character. The people working there are all absolutely fantastic. It's not for people who can't do stairs. There's no elevator. LOTS of stairs! The room was adequate. The Showers and bathrooms were kept clean. The free breakfast is, well, not great. Toast, oatmeal, coffee, and juice. We Deffinitely have stayed at hostels with much better breakfasts. But, for the price, beggars can't be choosers. There is a cafe down the street. Lol. The full kitchen was a little confusing, but, wE managed. All things considered, it was all good. Very convienant location. Athena restraunt has ok food, but, very snooty service. No vegan options. Some vegetarian.

I have stayed here many times and will continue to do so.Very nice and professional staff. They are helpful and attentive. The private rooms are comfy and always very clean. Excellent breakfast!! Located near some of the best restaurants and bars in Chicago.Check out Dugan's Bar down the street. The room rates are very reasonable for the budget traveler. I highly recommend the PARTHENON.

L'endroit est bien tenu et très calme au moment où nous y avons séjourné.Les lits confortables et les draps propres. Nous avions une chambre pour deux .propreté des planchers laissaient à désirer.Très bien situé pour le train et l'autobus, bons restaurants grecs à proximité. On peut même marcher jusqu'à l'avenue Michigan où beaucoup de choses se passent. Pas très coùteux si on choisit un taxi.
