Orebic; is situated on the southwestern part of 70km long peninsula of Peljeac, at the foot of St. Ilija (961m). It is the largest town on the peninsula, 120 km far from Dubrovnik and 2 nautical miles from Korcula. Orebic; is a cradle of ancient famous captains and seafarers whose rich tradition is exhibited in the Naval museum. Sailing over the world, they brought home various artifacts and plants. Even today, walking through Orebić and seeing the sights of historical inheritence, one can feel their spirit.
Orebic offers pure and unspoiled nature, relaxation on beautiful beaches and inlets, attractive sport activities such as windsulfing, scuba diving and boating, hiking, tennis, biking. Many exhibitions of paintings, sculptures and ship models are organized throughout the summer. Especially memorable
are concerts of classical music organized in churches and Franciscan monastery (1470). One day trips to Dubrovnik, national park Mljet, Korcula, Ston, Mostar, Medugorje are organized.
