Description - Hostel

We, Nani and Mike own and run our charming and endearing backpackers that operates inside a Heritage Class building that was originally built in 1888. Now fully refurbished and catering to the modern traveler.
We are an easy 5 minute stroll to the center of town where on Saturdays you can experience the infamous Nelson markets.

Guests can enjoy:

FREE Unlimited Wi-Fi 24hrs a day!
FREE I-site and bus station pickups & drop offs.
FREE Bikes!
FREE Breakfast from 8am - 9am (Waffles, Maple Syrup, Hot Chocolate, Orange Juice and more! Yum!)

We have a mixture of doubles, twins and four- or six-bed dorm rooms. ALL ROOMS HAVE A BATHROOM & BRAND NEW INNER SPRUNG MATTRESSES! We also have a large car park in which we welcome Freedom Campers to use.

Outside of the room you can relax in one of our hammocks in the sunny courtyard, watch a movie in the TV lounge, compete against other travelers in our backpackers games room (table tennis, darts or Foosball) or enjoy a cold beer with some our locals in the 'best beer garden in Nelson'.

On that note, how can we forget to mention that our Backpackers comes with its very own English-style pub where you can meet the locals, and to encourage interaction we have backpacker prices, just show your room card at the bar. Can't argue with that now can we!

Reception hours: 8am to 9pm, so if you are arriving outside this hours, please contact us and we will rescue you at the front door!
See you soon.

Our largest rooms still only have 6 people per room and as all our rooms have en suites you will never be waiting to long for that shower.

All the rooms are accessed via electronic key cards to ensure security.

The hostel is only a 8 minute stroll from the city center, 1 minute walk to the Matai River and Reserves, 20 minute walk to 'the center of New Zealand viewing platform' and a 10 minute stroll along the river bank to Trafalgar Park.

How to get there

The hostel is situated at the corner of Nile and Tasman Streets. 2 blocks from Trafalgar St towards the Maitai Valley

From the airport one exits onto Quarantine Road.
150 meters take the 1st exit onto Whakatu Drive.
400 meters via the 2nd exit continue on Whakatu Drive
700 meters take the 2nd exit onto Waimea Road
4. 4 km turn right onto Selwyn Place
500 meters turn right onto Collingwood St
150 meters take 1st exit onto Nile St
350 meters and we are on the left.

A taxi will cost between $20-$25 to reach us.
Unfortunately Nelson doesn't have a bus service that runs to the airport, however there is a service called 'Super Shuttle' that exists. It is cheaper than a taxi!!!
The intercity bus terminal is a 10 minute walk and is located on Bridge St.
To reach us from there one need only walk 3 blocks down Bridge St, turn right onto Tasman St and we are on the corner of Tasman and Nile another 3 blocks South.
Again with prior arrangement we do provide complementary pick ups and drop offs to the bus terminal.
