Description - Cabin

Arrowmont is on a 200 acre horse farm in the mountains of western North Carolina. The top of the mountain has 30 mile views out to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the picturesque valley has creeks, streams and a small lake stocked with Rainbow Trout. You can enjoy horseback riding and lessons, hay rides, fishing, hiking, gem hunting, mountain views and relaxing right here on the farm.

Your cabins are clean and comfortable providing all the necessities of home. They include a fully equipped kitchen (dishes, pots/pans, stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker), living room with fireplace, 2 bedrooms and a bath. Linens and towels are provided for the bed and bath. But we don't provide air conditioning, you'll probably be wanting a blanket at night with our cool mountain evenings. All you need to bring are your clothes and food... or enjoy some of our local restaurants.

Only a mile away is the highest lake east of the Mississippi River, Lake Glenville. It's a beautiful alpine-like lake with cold, clean water. Boating, swimming and fishing are available. You are in the center of the "land of waterfalls" as well as over 40 free or nearly free things to do. Plus, the local merchants are friendly and helpful.

Come to Arrowmont and get away from the traffic, sirens and crowds. Imagine views into eternity, horses stopping by your front porch to say hello or hunting for arrowheads and gems (garnets/rubies/sapphires) on the farm. Simply a breathtaking experience you'll want to return to again and again.

Room amenities

The vacation cabins have living rooms with fireplaces, satellite TV, fully equipped kitchens with dishes, pots/pans, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, stove, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath.

Linens and towels are provided for the bed and bath. You also have a hair dryer, toiletries and some sundries for the kitchen to make your stay more enjoyable.

Some cabins have great views from the back porch. Others are located along one of the horse trails. The kids really enjoy watching the horses go by. Plus, you can enjoy a picnic area and grills for outdoor cooking fun.

Here's a treat you don't find everyday... At the end of the day the horses are released to roam on the farm. They may visit you while searching for something to munch (graze) on. There's 200 acres for them roam on.

Unless otherwise specified, booking payments are non-refundable.

Terms & Conditions

Sorry, there are no Sunday check-ins.

Occupancy: Vacation cabin standard occupancy is a maximum of 6 people. Efficiency unit occupancy is a maximum of 4 people.

Check In: You may check-in between 4 PM and 6 PM.

Check Out: Check-out is at 11 AM except on Sunday. Sundays have a late check-out of 3 PM.

Late Arrival: If you are arriving after 6 PM, please call and we will make arrangements for you to gain entrance to your cabin.

Deposit: 33% deposit on your credit card for confirmed reservations. For reservations with less than two weeks notice, the full payment due with taxes is required.

Taxes: There are state and local taxes required. North Carolina Sales Tax is 8% and Jackson County Travel & Tourism Tax is 3%.

Payment: You may use Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express to secure your reservation and pay your deposit. Upon arrival, you may pay the balance due with cash or credit cards.

Cancellation: Two weeks cancellation notice is required for deposit refund less a $20 credit card processing fee. For less than 2 weeks, notice the full payment is required. We recommend you purchase Trip Insurance to avoid any possible problems.

"No Show": The Full cabin/room charge plus any applicable taxes is required.

Pets: We're sorry. We are too small to set aside a Vacation Cabin just for pets. If a pet is found in your cabin, the minimum charge starts at $200 and will be charged to your credit card.

How to get there

Arrowmont Stables & Cabins is 60 miles west of Asheville, North Carolina, 30 miles south of the Smoky Mountain National Park and 150 miles northeast of Atlanta, Georgia.

Private car is your only source of transportation. We are in the country on top of a mountain with a twisty two-lane country road from town (about 15 miles). You should purchase any groceries before climbing the mountain and checking in.
