Description - Hostel

The Discover Rwanda Youth Hostel - Rwandas first youth hostel - located near the centre of Kigali in Kacyiru, is the perfect place for you to start exploring the heart of Africa. The Hostel boasts great value accommodation, a fun atmosphere, excellent customer service, and a wealth of information about what to see and do. With a relaxing environment from the bar terrace, private rooms, dormitories, camping, hot showers and catering available, you are guaranteed to find just what you are looking for. Enjoy the convenience of a thoughtfully prepared breakfast on the open-air balcony overlooking the hills of Rwanda as you start your day. The hostel staff is ready to help answer any questions you may have during your stay.

The Discover Rwanda Youth Hostel is a Social Enterprise of Ingabo Trading and Training Company and supports the work of Aegis Trust, the NGO and charity who established the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre in partnership with the Kigali City Council and continues to manage the centre and its programs. Funds generated from the hostel support Aegis' work.

How to get there

The Discover Rwanda Youth Hostel is located just off the Boulevard de L'Umuganda, opposite the Top Tower Hotel and next to the Chinese Restaurant.

From the Airport: Take the only road heading towards the centre of town in Kigali, keep going on this road until the Kigali Business Centre (KBC) roundabout is reached and then turn first right on the roundabout. Follow the road down, just after passing the Top Tower Hotel on your left, turn right (this is the second right on the road after the KBC roundabout) cross the road which you come to immediately, passing a chinese restaurant on your left and an office block on your right. The Discover Rwanda Youth Hostel is directly ahead of you with a white gate.

Coming from the Centre of town: Coming from the Union Trade Centre (UTC) building in the centre of town bear right at the roundabout, taking the second exit. You will immediately begin to descend from the centre of town. Keep going until presented by traffic lights at the Kobil Petrol Station. Turn left and follow the road as it bends to the left, then the right, then left and right again. On the same road, go up the hill - you are now heading towards the Ministry of Defense. Take the next left (before reaching the Ministry of Defense, but in sight of it), this will take you to the Kigali Business Centre (KBC) roundabout. Turn left, taking the 3rd exit. Follow the road down, just after passing the Top Tower Hotel on your left, turn right (this is the second right on the road after the KBC roundabout) cross the road which you come to immediately, passing a chinese restaurant on your left and an office block on your right. The Discover Rwanda Youth Hostel is directly ahead of you with a white gate.
