Description - Hostel

Immerse yourself into the culture and friendly people of South Africa! Karus Lodge will make it happen for you. We are located in the heart of true Southern Africa living. Once you leave the airport, you will know that you have now arrived to the real deal of Joburg when you enter our doors at Karus. After we pick you up from the airport with our shuttle midi-bus, if you arrive hungry, we will welcome you by quickly"breaking you in" by introducing you to an exciting authentic Southern African meal of (pap and chicken or beef stew, appetized by samusas, sausages, and meatpies). Our friendly staff will be available to ensure your comfort through out your stay. We have two midi-buses available any time for tours to Cape Town, Swaziland, Lesotho, Mozambique and Malawi (minimum 15 people). If you simply want to "stay home" locally to do Joburg tours, eg. Apartherd Museum, Soweto, Mandela Center or have fun at the Gold Reef, our drivers will be waiting outside when you get out of bed and are ready for another day of adventure... you are family at Karus in South Africa!

If you are not driving your own car, we suggest the METRO RAIL starting from Johannesburg's Park Station . Get off the OLIFANTSFONTEIN Station.
Walk thru the small shopping center to Ann Street.
Turn left on Ann Street.

From the Oliver Tambo International Airport
Take R21 to Pretoria. Exit on Olifantsfontein Rd to the Left. Next Street, Turn Right on M57. Next Street is Impala. Turn Left on Impala. Turn Right on Ann Street. The Lodge is on your Right.
