Everything was good, except not having a cattle to make a tea. Apparently spanish people make tea in other way that the rest of the world do not do!

Hostal Madrid is an excellent place to stay if you are visiting Madrid for a few days or for longer periods. Situated in "Old Madrid", one of two main historic districts in the central city, the location is very good. Walking distance to some of Madrid's most important attractions in the Old Town, one can easily reach the Palacio Real and the Plaza Mayor, within about 10-15 minutes. Hostal Madrid is closest to the Puerta del Sol, one of the city's liveliest areas with shops and cafes.

Transportation is easy with access to taxis, buses, and metros. If you are traveling by car, street parking is difficult, but underground parking garages are everywhere. Dining at tapas restaurants is a favorite pastime in Madrid, and there are numerous good restaurants close to Hostal Madrid.

The apartment itself is situated on several floors in a traditional apartment building, and has a quaint old-European style elevator. It is a perfect choice for travelers of all kinds since accommodation ranges from budget single rooms without bathroom all the way up to full suites with 2 baths, kitchen, living area, and 2 bedrooms. We stayed in the suite, on the 5th floor. The apartment manager provides all the necessities for a enjoyable and practical stay, including nice perks like toiletries, hair dryer, coffee/tea maker, and microwave. A washer machine was an added convenience in the apartment for stays longer than a couple of days. The rooms are nicely appointed and clean. Beds are comfortable, which is an important feature if you are traveling from city to city in Spain. Another important feature that is often overlooked in reviews is that this apartment is extremely quiet with the windows closed, although it is situated above a moderately busy street. An in-room air conditioner allows you to control the temperature of the room very efficiently.
